OLSAT Practice Test Level F 7th 8th and 9th Grade Entry by Bright Kids NYC 20110503 Bright Kids NYC 9781935858294 Books
We recently moved out of state and our new school district required the OLSAT for placement. I purchased the prep guide and practice tests (Level D and F) in order to prepare my kids for the format of the test. I found the prep guide to be very helpful and I especially liked how it taught my kids to rule out answers and find the most correct choice. Over a two week period we went through the prep guide and concluded with the practice tests. The Bright Kids books were a little expensive but worth it to our family. Our kids were so confident going into the test and I knew they were prepared. Both children scored at the 99th percentile and we have Bright Kids to thank. My daughter even thanked me for helping her prepare- that meant a lot coming from a twelve year old.

OLSAT Practice Test Level F 7th 8th and 9th Grade Entry by Bright Kids NYC 20110503 Bright Kids NYC 9781935858294 Books Reviews
I purchased this book to help my son prepare for the OLSAT level F. I wanted him to be familiar with the test format and content so he would be comfortable on test day. Having access to a practice test helped reduce his stress level and increase his confidence. The price is high but the value we received in preparedness is also high.
It's helpful in that the questions do mirror the actual OLSAT but the cost is obscene. I'd look in the public library first or try to purchase a used one elsewhere.
The book is excellent. This is what we really wanted. My son is taking OLSAT test soon. This is good tool to let him know and be mentally prepared what the test looks like. The book also offers the parents to operate the test with child just like the real test, with all narration part and answer sheet. There are answer keys and explanations for each problem as well. It is totally different between knowing what the problems look like and no idea of the problem.
Great preparation material. My son scored 99% after practicing these tests. Well worth the price.
I bought this for my 11-year-old daughter to practice on before she takes the test at the end of 6th grade (going into 7th grade). I didn't have a clue to what the OLSAT test tests and it was nice to get an idea. The book has only one test of 72 questions and detailed explanations of the answers which is great. It gave me a good idea of my daughter's weaknesses and I was able to find similar problems on line for her to practice.
The OLSAT tests Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Sentence Arrangement, Arithmetic Reasoning, Logical Selection, Word/Letter Matrix, Verbal Analogies, Verbal Classification, Inference, Figural Analogies, Pattern Matrix, Figural Series, Number Series, Number Inference, Number Matrix.
I hope my daughter does well next Spring when they test her. I'll post then how she did and what she thinks of the test vs. this practice book.
P.S, Arrived super fast! See comments
Great practice booklet. There's only 1 practice test but it has explanations. My daughter practiced with it & scored very well. I highly recommend it.
I really like the detailed summary in the beginning of this guide however, I thought for the price that I would have recieved more than one example test. It seems a little on the pricey side when I consider how much I spend for CPA study guides for myself or any other resources for my 13 year old (Explore test, SSAT, etc.). Overall it was helpful as in I think it allowed her to be exposed to the format and types of questions on the real test.
